The Calgary Stampede is an extraordinary organization of stakeholders who have partnered, worked, volunteered, and visited together for more than 100 years to preserve and celebrate our western heritage, cultures and community spirit. Its success is the direct result of the passion, energy, enthusiasm, hard work, dedication, and ingenuity of those stakeholders. The best ideas in an organization can often be found on the fringe, especially if people are encouraged, and feel the freedom to be creative. To continue its success in the next 100 years, the Stampede must inspire and model innovation and creativity.
“To have a great idea, have a lot of them.” Thomas Edison
Webster defines Innovation as the act or process of introducing new ideas, devices or methods. The Calgary Stampede Innovation Committee was formed in 2014 with a goal to help bring innovative ideas forward into realization within the Calgary Stampede family. Through our actions, dialogues with stakeholders, and through celebrating all our organizations achievements the iTeAm is here to encourage the generation, sharing, and implementation of innovative ideas to keep the CS at the forefront of the community and in a way that is consistent with its promotion of western heritage and values, namely those of western hospitality, commitment to community, pride of place, and integrity.
Our Values: In addition to the Stampede Values, the committee was founded on the values of honesty, fun, and respect.
Our Mandate: To promote innovation within the Calgary Stampede through education, managing and idea process, and building relationships with all stakeholders.
In the coming months, the iTeAm looks forward to meeting with volunteers to discuss the committee, the idea process, and your ideas.
Look for us during the 10 days on park where we will be excited to speak with you all. Don’t forget to follow us on twitter @innovation_CS and on facebook at www.facebook.com/calgarystampede for all our latest updates.
